Emerald Fluorite (Peru)
Vivid green fluorite from Peru, admired for its luminous crystals and contrasting mineral companions.
Origin and discovery
Our collection notes identify these specimens with the Atacocha mining district near Cerro de Pasco, Pasco, Peru, and a limited 2022 find. Published specimen records place green fluorite associated with geocronite at the Milpo mine in this district during July–August 2022. We retain the collection history without treating it as proof that no further material can be found.
Mineral companions
Fluorite from this district can occur with pyrite, sphalerite and minerals of the geocronite–jordanite series. Their presence varies between specimens; this page does not attach a laboratory identification to every dark inclusion visible in our video. “Emerald” describes the green color here, not the mineral emerald.
Metaphysical traditions
Within the crystal community, fluorite is commonly associated with protection, mental clarity and focus. Some people use it during study, meditation or intention setting as a reminder to pause, settle their thoughts and return their attention to the task at hand. These are spiritual beliefs and personal practices, not established medical effects or a substitute for healthcare.
