Imperial Hessonite Garnet
Hessonite is an orange to reddish-brown variety of grossular garnet. In faceted gems it can show warm honey, cinnamon, and reddish tones, with the color and cut changing how each stone looks face-up.
Looking at faceted hessonite
GIA describes hessonite’s often “roiled” appearance, caused by internal features that can give it a distinctive visual texture. Faceters choose shape and proportions to balance color, brilliance, and available rough. The word “Imperial” is a collection or trade descriptor here, not a separate mineral species or laboratory grade.
Identification and disclosure
Hessonite belongs to the grossular garnet species. Appearance alone cannot establish an individual stone’s exact locality, treatment history, or analytical identity. No Soul Body Gems laboratory report is attached to this photographed parcel.
